What it is: Natural oil from rhizomes of Curcuma longa.

When you smell it: Heart: as it settles.
What perfumers do with it: Adds dry, earthy spice and golden woody warmth to spicy and woody accords.
Worth knowing: Turmeric's yellow pigment, curcumin, does not distil, so the oil comes out pale.
