Dry, powdery orris root with woody, earthy and faintly camphor-like notes.

What it is
A molecule made in a lab, first made by IFF in 1950.
When you smell it
Heart: as it settles.
What perfumers do with it
Economical orris-root booster; adds dry powdery iris to violet, leather, nutty and woody accords.
Worth knowing
One of the few single molecules that convincingly reproduces orris root's dry, powdery smell.
