Natural oil from steam-distilled wine lees (spent yeast sediment).
Where it comes from
France and other wine regions

What perfumers do with it
Gives a boozy, fruity lift to fougères, tobacco and gourmand accords; the green grade is rawer.
Worth knowing
It is distilled from the yeasty sediment left after wine-making, not from grapes or brandy.
