Spicy, wood-heavy perfumes from Paris with a cult following; Féminité du Bois, a cedar-and-spice scent from 1992, set its style.

Serge Lutens, a makeup artist and image-maker from Lille, began creating perfumes for Shiseido in Paris; its Palais Royal salon opened in 1992. He launched the line under his own name in 2000, and Shiseido bought the name in 2015.

Shiseido, the Japanese beauty group, which backed the house from the start and has owned the name since 2015. Checked September 2026.
