British perfumes with Victorian roots and royal warrants; Halfeti, a dark rose-and-oud scent from 2015, is its best known today.
William Henry Penhaligon, a Cornish barber at a Turkish bath on London's Jermyn Street, began making his own scents around 1870 and became barber and perfumer to Queen Victoria's court. Spain's Puig has owned the house since 2015.
