A Paris fashion house with its own perfumers, famous for No. 5 (1921); Bleu de Chanel now leads its own US best-seller list.
Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel opened a hat shop in Paris in 1910 and launched No. 5, made by Ernest Beaux, in 1921. The Wertheimer family, her partners in perfume from 1924, owns the house today; Olivier Polge has led its perfumes since 2015.
