Oud oils and East-meets-West perfumes from a Dubai family house with Indian roots; Wisal, a rose-and-musk scent from 2010, is a best seller.
Haji Ajmal Ali, a rice farmer in Assam, began trading oud and perfume oils in 1950, moved the business to Mumbai and opened its first Dubai shop in 1976. His grandson Abdulla Ajmal now runs it as chief executive.
